Awards & Scholarships

Awards

NDA Awards celebrate the best in the business — individuals and companies who raise the bar in demolition through safety, innovation, leadership, and impact. These awards are designed to honor the people and projects that make demolition not just essential, but exceptional. Now’s your chance to show the industry and potential clients what you’re made of!

Michael J. Casbon Safety Awards

The Michael J. Casbon Safety Award was developed by the NDA Awards Committee, in conjunction with the NDA Safety Committee, and honors the legacy of the late Michael J. Casbon.

An expert with 25 years of experience in the fields of demolition, decontamination and construction, Mike Casbon was a member of NDA’s Education Committee, Safety Committee and Government Affairs Committee. Mike was instrumental in the development of NDA’s Foundation of Demolition Management education series, and posthumously received NDA’s Hall of Fame Award in 2019. In addition to his contributions to the NDA, he was also a subject matter expert for the OSHA Training Institute (OTI) and had trained more than 1,000 compliance officers on field inspection principles.

NDA’s Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a member selected for their exceptional service to NDA and the industry. The award honors members for their leadership and commitment to NDA’s organizational vision and mission, and pays tribute to the individual’s commitment to the betterment of their community, the company they worked for and the Demolition industry as a whole.

NDA's Hall of Fame Awards

The National Demolition Association established the National Demolition Association Hall of Fame Program to recognize and honor elite industry leaders whose commitment, ingenuity, and devotion have significantly impacted the demolition industry and our member companies. While the Lifetime Achievement Award focuses on the body of work of a member in the industry over the course of a lifetime, the Hall of Fame award is designed to honor professionals who have contributed significantly to the profession, but are not necessarily eligible for the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Inductees will be celebrated during the Annual Convention and Expo as well as in NDA membership and news communications. Eligible nominators include NDA member companies in good standing, the NDA Awards Committee, or the NDA Board of Directors. Nominee must be a current or past employee of an NDA member company. Candidates may be nominated posthumously.

NDA's Excellence in Demolition Awards

The Excellence in Demolition Awards recognize NDA members for exceptional demolition projects that showcase innovation, quality, and community impact. Awards are given in categories based on project size and complexity, highlighting the best work in the industry. Any public or private project is eligible to qualify. Applicants are encouraged to submit more than one project for consideration - they are eligible to submit one per category.
